Hello,

Problem: DESS does not charge when there is grid feed-in from the PV inverters.

I have installed a Multiplus II 5000VA in ESS mode with a pylontech US5000 battery and everything works fine. I wanted to try out the new dynamic ESS features in vrm, but so far I have run into the following problem: The DESS does not charge when there is grid feed-in from the PV inverters. In normal ESS mode the system will adhere to the grid setpoint of 0 Watt, and charge when the grid is negative. In DESS mode the system will discharge fine to supply a load, to keep the grid around 0W.

I have two old SMA inverters with no communications and no energy meter. Would installing a PV energy meter solve the problem? Is a PV energy meter a requirement for DESS to work?

A PV meter ( or PV communication for that matter) is a requirement. After adding a meter to my system DESS starts working fine! :+1:
