"DC-coupled PV - feed in excess" discharging batteries

hello everyone

I went from a Quattro 5000 to a Multiplus-II 10,000

firmware version is 558 (latest)

I used to have DC feed in option enabled, so the SmartSolar would produce max energy during daytime , feeding the grid with max available power. Batteries were preserved.

PROBLEM is that now this option discharges the batteries.

Did anyone get the same result?

Btw DESS is disabled (tried it, didn’t solve it).

REQUEST: is there any configuration that allows to feed the grid from DC without discharging the batteries ?

What are the ess battery settings?

Optimized (with BatteryLife)

And you updated the gx at the same time as the inverter?

Is it a fast discharge or a slow trend downward?

the CerboGX is on the latest version as well (v3.66)

it is a fast discharge, as many kW as the batteries are able to cope with

I appreciate your interest LX

I know I am NOT the only one affected, here an example

it’s completely nuts that Victron set this new behaviour and didn’t fix it after so many months of people complaining

The only thing i can think of for now is use ess scheduled charge to prevent the discharge during the daylight hours.

for the record, a screen shot of the discharge happening on the batteries, with no solar power and DC feed in option enabled

I tried it with these options which should guarantee charging batteries is always priority… not working

could any community admin get involved please ?

Very odd as it is working on mine.

I how we have set up the charging is to bump up the min soc stepping up during various hours during the day so we can end with a full battery. It may be better to do that rather than have 20% min soc then one other setting saying you always want 100%. It is a bit conflicting.

? Are you wanting official support from Victron?

This is the correct way…. Is to reach your installer first. Or the local dealer who supplied you. Otherwise…. There is an official support page.

ok I try the official tech support, I’ll get back to this post whatever the ending result is

good news

what seems to have solved the issue is to upload a new configuration file into my Multiplus with different voltages

I use the following voltages on the charger and ESS , respectively

hope it helps anyone
