Dashboard suggestion

I have a simple Victron installation:
70 Ah 25.9V Lithium battery
BMV-700
VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle
GlobalLink 520
Blue Smart Charger 24/8 (230 VAC)

I use the VRM to monitor the state of this system regularly. On the “Advanced” page I can see everything I need. But the “Dashboard” should display a two more pieces of basic information, voltage and current.

The battery view right now shows a percentage-based state of charge and the drawn wattage. I’ve never quite understood SOC, but I think having the actual voltage and current displayed in this box would be very appropriate. Battery voltage and current are two very fundamental values that should be displayed on the first page to which a user is likely to go. These could either be displayed in addition to SOC and watts, or there could be an option to decide between two modes.

There is a graph which displays the battery voltage, but a numeric display would be a valuable addition as described above.

If there is already a setting to have this displayed, please let me know. Otherwise, how can I suggest to the VRM development team to make this simple change?

Thanks,
Daniel.

@danapple The facility you desire should be there, towards the upper left of the dashboard page you should see the text “Show details”, click on this and you will get more info in the device boxes.

Hi @pwfarnell ,

I do not see a “Show details” anywhere on the page. Can you send me a screenshot of where to look?

Really I’m looking to have the first displayed page of the VRM dashboard display the voltage and current without further clicking.

This is the box to which I’m referring:

Thanks,
Daniel.

Here with and without details. I said should above because with these things sometimes not all browsers / equipment behaves the same.

Hi again @pwfarnell ,

Thanks for the screenshots! I dont see the show/hide details on mine screen like you do. What I’m looking gor mainly is for my battery to be displayed like your “Starter battery”, or better yet “DC Power” when details are displayed. Mystery.

Are you using a GlobalLink 520?

Thanks,
Daniel.

I have a Cerbo GX. Does your GlobalLink have real-time setting for VRM because that can allow more details. You may also need to enable real time in VRM.

@danapple Reading around, it appears the GlobalLink does not have the realtime feature like the GX devices so it can not display as much info, which is why you do not see the hide/show details.

May I add, that it would be super cool (over a generic show / hide) to be able to select the details to show per tile?

I.e. I would love to see “Time to run” on the battery, but don’t want to overload the mobile view with 15 different Lx Voltages permanently.
