New UI - AC connected PV on the output of the multiplus shows on the input

Hi,

Just updated to 3.50 this morning and enjoying the new guiv2.

In my installation I have AC connected PV on the output of the multiplus. The overview in the VRM portal is also showing that, so the settings appear to be correct. However in the overview of the guiv2, it looks like it is connected to the input? Should it be like that?

Also I noticed that clicking on the Solar Yield in the overview, gives me more details about the PV power, voltage, amps etc. However the voltage and amps show up as ‘-’, while looking in de devices, it does show voltage and amps.

Last remark is the brief overview. I have two solar devices, both on L1 only. Also my installation is single phase. The solar is the only entity in the brief overview showing three bars, not sure if these represent phases? How can I change it to show only one?

My Fronius PV inverter is also connected to AC-Out. From my understanding I think this is by design in gui v2. From what I’ve seen, power generation/sources are located on the left hand side and loads are on the right hand side and there’s no distinction to where the PV inverter is connected.

I’ve also noticed this. I wish you could see more data relating to the PV Inverter on the overview page such as Line voltage, amps etc. like you can see in VRM.

Hi @pkk

This is expected behaviour and an intentional change. Though we understand and expect it might take some getting used too if you are very familiar with the ‘classic’ model.

There is some more information about these design changes and new features here.

I absolutely love the new UI, the continued improvements to the entire victron ecosystem is just the icing on the cake to the products.

Can I recommend one change, if the units are set to AMPS, the AC output is shown in AMPS as set.
However as this value is obviously different to the DC side it can cause confusion to some users. Can it also show the wattage at the same time.

Also on the solar input side can we have the UI showing the total DC output current to the DC bus in Amps.

Like below

This could be done with a simple calculation in the system if the value is not already available somewhere else in the code.
For instance in my example above there is an AC coupled PV inverter, so it has no DC output value, but it can be calculated obviously.
Total solar yield/battery voltage

Same with the AC load
Ac output current*AC voltage

I will repeat what I said on YT already.
I like the improvements and layout, but I really want the option to get color back. I love the black background, but its too “mono-chrome” for me.

(I know I butched this with the colors. Was too lazy to color the inside of the text. But even so … I hope you get my point. Some light colors with transparency to the background would be appreaciated)

Thanks Guy,

I see what the beautiful new guiv2 is intended to do here, sources at the left, which of course is a design choice.

Nevertheless, I would at least expect not to share the same input dot as the grid, in the situation PV is actually on the output:

What about an extra connection dot at the left like the new overview page layout example is showing with the EVCS at the right:

I have an issue with the new UI. I have enabled it on my Cerbo GX + 5" GX Touch (running V3.53) and the new UI works. However when I try connect to the system via remote console it does not see my SMA PV inverters or my SMA energy meter as it does natively.

Have you taken another look at your Modbus connections … Something may have been deactivated here.

Or start again with ‘Gui-V1’ in the address bar to test …

GUI-V1 works perfectly. When I switch to GUI-V2 the local display works but when I try to connect via remote console from the VRM it does not pick up the MODBUS devices. This problem is isolated to the remote console only.

My system consists more or less of 2 pv inverters, 3 MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-48, 2 batteries, with one battery with a Batrium BMS attached to the BMS-Can and the second battery with a Seplos BMS attached to the VE- Can. The control center is a Cerbo GX with software V3.53.

Before the big software update, the 2 batteries were both shown separately in the device list; only the battery on the BMS-Can was shown in the graphic.

Since the update, both batteries are still shown in the device list in the Classic UI, but in the New UI I can only find the battery on the BMS-Can. BUT: both batteries are now displayed in both UIs, one as a battery and one as attached DC loads. The interesting thing is that depending on the SW version, one (BMS-Can) and the other (VE-Can) are visible as batteries in the UI.

Another problem is the display of the connections in the New UI, there are a few things wrong, see picture.

This is the correct wiring:

I must agree. I do not like the new wiring layout. The solar for me has a DC and AC component. The solar would be best having a box with a total at the top, then the dc and ac bit below it with wiring going to the relevant sections. Ie the dc pv joins the wire between the battery and inverter. The ac wire going to an ac wire or the inverter. It conceptually hurts my head every time I look at the new one and I cant get over it. Also, it would be useful to have the Battery charging/discharging power a little more prominent. Every thing on that page is about power flow and then the batteries is hidden away in the bottom corner.

The new ui is much smoother in operation and generally I like it, but unfortunately I’ve had to go back to gut v1. Please don’t get rid of that in the future.
