We encounter an issue at the moment connecting two mppt’s and our BSLblatt battery toward our multiplus Gx. The problem seems to be different data rates, as the batteries require 500 kb/s and the Mppt requiring 250 kb/s. We don’t really see a efficient solution - can somebody help us out how we can make this work? Thanks in advance !
MPPT’s use VE CAN ports. The battery uses a separate BMS CAN port.
They will have the right settings.
You can’t mix the two on one CAN BUS profile.
The internal GX has limited connections, an external GX is a better choice when more connectivity is required. Rather try connect your MPPTs using vedirect.
Thanks Nick! Do you mean that we need to connect one MPPT using a VE.Direct to VE.Direct cable towards the Multiplus. And then the other MPPT using a VE.Direct to USB connector towards our multiplus?
Correct.
The single CAN port is intended for BMS use.
Alternatively you can disconnect the internal GX and add an external Cerbo/ekrano which has additional CAN ports for both device types.
