Connect multiple VE.can devices to Multiplus ii GX

Hello All,

I have a late 2024 multiplus ii GX to which a BMS Battery is connected to one of the VE.can ports, with can speed at 500kb/s. Works fine.

Now I wish to connect two VM-3P75CT energy meter daisy chained using VE.can.

In addition, I wish to connect a MPPT controller, flexible as to which which one.

Doing some research this looks a challenge. First of all, with the BMS at 500 kb/s, does that disqualify the use of the other, available VE.can port of the mutliplus ii?

I haven’t tried it out on the MP2 GX yet, but it works on the Raspi:

Plug a USB-CAN adapter into the USB port.

I use the DSD TECH SH-C30G Insulated USB CAN Adapter Based on Canable for around €30 from Amazon

You have to make the cable yourself for this, but it is easy

And think that you have only one USB port…otherwise you need a usb hub.

A other possibility is to deactivate the GX board and use a cerbo instead

Thanks anyone tried this on MP2 GX? Sounds intresting.

Otherwise I guess I have to bite the bullet and get a Cerbo…

The Multiplus-II GX has only one VE.Can port consisting of two ports, the second for the terminator. You also cannot mix devices running different speeds on the same string to my knowledge.

Thanks All, as I am not entering into non supported territory I will either get myself a separate GX device, or disconnect the battery from VE.can, and simply have the MP2 to manage the battery “by voltage” (as I did in the past)

Again thanks!!!
