I have a multi GX connected with 2 multi’s with VE. bus and the shunt connected with VE.direct. Connecting the RS with VE.bus fails. How can I connect the RS with de Multi GX? The RS has two VE.bus connectors and one VE.direct connector. The Multi GX has only one VE.direct connector. This one is used by the shunt.
Which RS? The mppt has CAN ports not vebus.
The manual is fairly clear about how it should be connected.
@Thedvankempen
Can you specify whether you have the RS Inverter or the RS MPPT?
For the Multi RS inverter, to clarify, the ve direct can be used for programming but not to connect to the gx. Manual link
The Multi RS connects to the gx with VE CAN and terminators, with speed 250. Manual link here.
The multi RS is (ve can) a very different inverter product to the Multiplus (ve bus) inverter range.
If ypu are referring to the RS MPPT, then the same applies except in its case you can use the ve direct cable to connect to the GX. It is a ve can product and uses a totally different port to the ve bus inverters. And the speed has to be 250 (not 500). And this is key when using the cerbo.
Thankyou Nick. It’s a RS MPPT 450/200
Thank you LX. I am referring to a MPPT RS 450/200 - MC4. How can I check the settings of the speed? I started from default settings with VE.Can cable to the MultiplusGX, but the Multiplus GX doesn’t show the MPPT RS 450/200 in the device list. Neither does the dashboard of the ESS. The only way tot see the MPPT RS 450/110 is via bluetooth on my phone. I used terminators conform the manual.
The MultiplusGX has BMS-Can ports, not VE.Can, you cant use those to communicate with the MPPT RS. The only option is to use VE.Direct
The Multiplus II GX has two VE bus ports and two VE can ports. I used the VE bus ports to connect to the other multi’s (3 phase). The RS MPPT has two VE can ports: I tried to connect one of these with the VE can port of the Multiplus II GX. Is that possible?
Two BMS-Can, two VE.Bus
No. This is the thing bms can is only 500.
The tech note in the link chrigu has provided says it is for that only. So can’t be changed.
So this is correct. Ve direct only.
chrigu Thank you for your answer. This is clear!
Is it possible to connect the MPPT RS with The Multiplus II GX with a VE.Direct to USB-A interface cable?
Yes, you can.
or you can disconnect the internal GX and add an external cerbo/ekrano.
Thank you Nick. With this cable installed is my problem solved.
