Configure Multiplus II 24/5000/120-50 for Lynx Smart BMS NG 500 and two LFP25,6/200

Hi , I have the following components mounted in my rv.
Multiplus II 24/5000/120-50
Lynx Smart BMS NG 500
2x LFP25,6/200
Cerbo GX MKII

  • MPPT, Orion XS…

I want to configure the MPII with VE Configure. I am working my way through the tabs and have some questions:

  1. I have read that the BMS is managing how and when to charge/discharge for all connected devices from victron. Is that correct?
  2. Does that mean that any value set for charge/discharge in the multiplus will only be used in case of connection loss between the components in the GX network?

For the inverter tab, are these voltages okay? I went by what the datasheet for the battery specified (22.4V):

And for charger I selected Smart battery with VE Bus BMS. Anything I should change? 28,4 seems high to me as currently with the MPPTs connected it stopped earlier as far as I remember.

Lastly the tab advanced shows that one can limit the internal charger to prioritize other energy sources. Is this only selectable via VE configure? As that seems to be a very situational setting. In the depth of winter I might want to fully utilize the MP to charge but in summer I might want to have this lower?

The BMS is managing charge voltage so normally the srttings in the multiplus are not used. However, you should still set them correctly in case it tries to operate in standalone mode.

For the inverter settings you may have some voltage dropin cables, if you find you get low voltage shutdown tjen reduce the 22.4V.

For the charger DO NOT select VE Bus BMS, you have a Lynx BMS. Your selection will cause problems.

For NG batteries the absorption voltage is 28.0V, the 28.4V was for the older generation of batteries.

If you set the use other energy sources this only uses solar for the DC loads. If you set the voltage to say 26.0V then in winter without solar the Multiplus will stop the batteries falling below that voltage.
