Charge current jumps around

I’d like to post a question about something I’m observing with my system. I’m seeing high variability in the charge amperage, and I’m wondering if this is normal behavior.

Even if it’s normal, shouldn’t the system always respect the charge current limit?

The charge current limit is set to 95A. However, I’m seeing a wide range in the charge amperage—it varies between 85A and 108A. I don’t want more than 100A going into the battery, and this is also configured in the BMS (JKBMS). The BMS already builds in a margin and requests 95A. However, the occasional exceedance of 100A triggers an overcurrent alarm.

This isn’t a huge problem, but I’m just curious if the behavior I’m seeing from the MultiPlusses is considered normal.

I’ve attached a video where you can see this erratic behavior in action.

Currently, only grid power is being used, so PV input is not influencing the system here.

Try taking it down to a whole number ie 90amps I’ve taken mine to 60 and it’s not gone higher than that when I tested it

Thanks, I’ll give that a try and let you know the outcome. Is it also steady 60A in your try?

Hey mate shoots to 60.08 some times but never to 61 so all good as far as I’m concerned

I know an MP2-3K with almost +/-15% variations…
It’s set to 14A, but regulates between 12A and 16A…

Don’t know if it’s only the shown numbers or this is really happening. I’ll have to go to location with an DC clampmeter.
But judging from your sayings, that it triggers high current alarms, it may really do that.
