I have a multiplus II 10kVa rated to charge 48V batteries at 140amp.
I have 2 315Ah 48V packs with JK BMS rated to 200A. All cables and fusing rated to >250A. Charging one pack I can hit 110a on the multiplus… however I get the same even with 2 packs.
I do not have low quality power source selected via VE configure. It is a UK grid connection rated fused at 100A. The inverter is not hot… it is currently winter and ambient temp is 5-6Deg.
This approaches around 80% of expected charging capacity… is this normal or is there something to optimise.
The default charge current is typically lower than the rated (90A vs 120A on mine). As you have been in the settings you may well have checked this, if not have a look at the charger settings.
One possibility is to turn on ‘weak ac’ even though you have a good grid. I was once told this affects the power factor correction of the multi, and one other user who tried this, found that turning this on increased the max charge current.
A bit more detail. SOC 20% to start. Here is a graph of the charge current, voltage and SOC overnight. 630Ah of battery. In 2 banks each with 150A charge, 200A discharge limit.
I have exactly the same problem, I have never seen the charging current higher than 100A. I haven no restrictions in the system. Does anyone know why the charger seems to be limited.
