I have a pair of MP-II 3000/48 charging my LFP batteries from AC-coupled PV, and I’ve noticed the total current never goes above 65 or 66A, while per the datasheet each multi should be able to charge with 35A. This is even with excess PV power that is being fed to the grid and the batteries at a relatively low SOC of 60% and a corresponding voltage of 54.2V or so. Temperatures are currently also rather low at about 14°C where the multis are located.
So I’m trying to understand where this comes from – are there specific circumstances where that datasheet number applies and derating conditions otherwise?
