I have a Cerbo GX that I have been using in an installation for years without a connection problem. Three hours ago it stopped updating to the website. Firmware is 3.75. I have refreshed the web browser on my Android phone as well as viewed the website on VRM Portal - Victron Energy all show my system as offline. Standing in front of it, everything appears normal. Wifi in the building appears normal as well. I suspect a reboot would resolve it, however I would like to know the cause so I can prevent it from happening again.
Under the VRM menu item what is showing there, especially last contact and connection status?

Update: Here is the error message.
Changed “Reboot device when no contact” from default “not selected” to “selected”. This got me back online and should keep me online when the problem reoccurs…but what was the problem?
That is a dns failure, so it seems unable to resolve the endpoint which does point to an internet or comms issue.
Do you only use either wifi or lan connections or both on the GX?
I would suggest rebooting the router and any AP’s, sometimes something just gets stuck.
Thanks Nick. I tried rebooting the wifi router right off w/no luck. Then setting reboot device if no contact to yes initiated a reboot with connection following. I was hoping to determine the root cause of the failure and resolve it. I have other systems that are very remote and cannot be accessed easily. I will change the above reboot settings on those as well.
Also try give your device a static address outside the dhcp pool, or reserve one in the pool. Just to eliminate another variable.
