Cerbo GX MK3-USB not connecting

Good Evening
i have a system with CERBO GX for Monitoring through MODBUS
System includes a main Multiplus connected to the VE Bus port ( and working perfectly ) and a second 800W Multiplus connected through MK3-USB on USB 1 which has worked perfectly until I updated CERBO Formware from 3.52 to 3.54.
Since that time the Multiplus connected through the MK3 -USB does no more show up at all - nothing , even in SSH .
Plugging into USB0 doen not change anytrhing - looks like if MK3-USB is not recognized anymore. When I plugged the MK3-USB intto a USB port I can use it for configurtion with VE Configure - so the problem seems to be somewhere in the new CRBO GX firmware
Anybody out there who has an idea ?

You should be able to switch back to 3.52 and test it. The MK3 periodically needs an update, but that seems to flash as a notification. Can you see it with a computer or phone? I have a Raspberry Pi with Venus OS to test when things aren’t working correctly and to try new firmware.

Why dont you daisy chain the ve.bus from 1. to 2. Multiplus ?

Because you can only connect identical units together and they need to be configured to work together.
I guess the 800VA unit is smaller than the other and/or it should work independently.

Thanls for the contributions.
I am using a Multigrid II 3000W for normal users and a separate additional Mutiplus 800 for small important users ( Network switches, router, Server … )
Switching back to 3.52 didn’t solve the issue anymore.
The MK3-USB works perfectly when connected to PC USB port and VE Configure.
Seems like CERBO completely ignores the MK3-USB

I have tested the behaviour

  1. connecting each of the Multiplus to VEBus socket individually → working perfectly
  2. VE-Bus socket left empty and one multiplus connected via MK3-USB > no device detected
  3. VE-Bus socket left empty and one multiplus connected via MK2-USB > no device detected
  4. May it be software issue in the Cerbo and support for MK3-USB has been deprecated entirely since a couple of versions?
Might a firmware downgrade to an earlier version be a solution ?

Guten Morgen

did you have any luck? I am about to order the mk3-usb to see my second inverter on cerbo ( bigger phoenix connected by ve direct and smaller multi with mk3-usb.)

Hi Brent

No my Mk3-USB is still not recognized by the CERBO GX -stull struggling and could not decide whether to buy a new MK3-USB or not .
I have pretty much the configfuration ( Bigger Multigtiod 3000 and a small Multiplus 800 )
Best Regards Jürgen

I ordered the cable today so when I have installed it I will get back to let you know if I was successful.. :crossed_fingers:

I’ve installed the MK3/USB and everything is working as expected. After installing it took some time to appear in the devices list. I can see the information from the second inverter in the “advanced” section of the VRM. And also it can be seen on the remote console, even though it is hidden… It would be nice if it could be shown somewhere on the main page.

ALso:
CERBO is running 3.55
Multiplus is on MK3/USB
PHOENIX is VE DIRECT

Hi All,
My second Multiplus connected via MK3-USB s still not recognized by the CERBO GX although the MK3 adapter wirks fine with a PC
I am now reaching the point where I will buy a new MK3-USB Adapter- hoping that this may solve my problem.
