I just bought and installed a Cerbo GX with the GX70 touch. Wifi worked briefly, then disconnected. Yesterday it showed last connection the day before. I tried getting it connected with no success, now today it shows ‘last seen’ as 12 hours ago. I have it set to reboot on loss of connection. My router is only about 12’ from the Cerbo, through one wall but showing strong signal.
Are the antenna issues still a concern with new units? I’ve read older posts about adjusting the antenna inside.
The issue with the older units was fixed. If possible connect to your router via LAN. By nature of the device, the Cerbo is often in an electrically busy area so wifi can be a bit hit and miss.
Is the Wifi channel on your router set to Auto ?
And are you by any chance living in an area where there are multiple Wifi routers broadcasting ?
I’ve seen cases where the router changes the Wifi channel (because too many others on the same channel) and clients getting disconnected because of that.
Wifi on embedded devices is always a bit iffy.
I appear to have the same issue, which is frustrating because I mostly monitor the system from overseas. But the suggestion to connect via LAN cable makes sense for me as the devices are in the same cabinet.
Thanks guys for the quick responses! I’m cracking up here because I’m traveling and staying in RV parks where there are about 20 wifi signals popping up all around me. The cable connection makes perfect sense, although it’s disturbing that a device this expensive and made for this particular use isn’t better equipped to work in the environment it’s most likely to be in. It’ll take a 25’ cable and fishing wire through the ceiling and belly pan on my RV, but looks like it will be worth it since it doesn’t work on wifi. I love the features of the device and a lot of the info is over my head so far, but Victron really should up their game on workability if they advertise a device to work with wifi that basically doesn’t.
I truly appreciate the community support, thanks again!
