Purchased and installed newest available wifi dongle from “the list”. The Netgear AC1200. The cerbo shows much greater signal strength for all in range SSIDs and shows both 2.4G and 5G. When I tried connecting to my 2.4G SSID, it won’t connect. It connect’s fine to the 5G. Prior to installing the wifi dongle, the same Cerbo was connected to the 2.4G without problem. Same SSID, same password. I’d rather the dongle connect to the 2.4G because the signal is stronger and certainly should be sufficient bandwidth for the purpose. Anyone else using the “new” Netgear dongle?
Maybe I should turn off the “Create access point”? Perhaps the 2gHz wifi AP inherent in the Cerbo is conflicting with receiving 2gHz via the dongle?
No one weighed in but I tried it. Turning off the “create access point” allowed the 2.4G wifi to work with the new dongle.
Nice self solve, I have done that a few times when the install is at the edge of the WiFi range it helps with signal strength.
