Cerbo GX Ethernet port stopped working until restart

We have a little setup we are testing. The Cerbo GX is connected to a switch with ethernet cable.

Today the cerbo GX went offline. When I visually looked at it, the ethernet port was not lit up.
I tried putting it in a different port on our network switch. Nothing.
I tried testing it with an ethernet fluke tester. Nothing.
It’s not the switch or the cable.. The GX wasn’t linking with anything.

It was like the port was OFF on the gx. Yet the light were still going on other lights on the gx. (power etc)

When I manually pulled power from the gx and repluged it came back on immediately.

What could make the ethernet port turn off?

These setup will be very remote, so I can’t be having the GX ethernet port having to be hard reset all the time.

I have the same issue with the Cerbo GX cabled to a wireless repeater. I changed the repeater to a different which seemed a bit more reliable but the ethernet connection failed after a few days requiring a hard reset,

Hi @silicondt

I have seen your bug report and escalated it for the attention of R&D.

More reports from others would help, if anyone else is out there with the same issue.

The GX has a feature that sets an automatic watchdog that will reboot the device if it detects the internet is no longer connected.

This is usually used for wifi or LTE where the link itself is inherently unreliable due to external interference and other things, but the method should also work for an interruption in an Ethernet connection (to the internet).

It’s not enabled by default on the GX, because many sites are never connected to the internet.
Do you have that feature enabled?

I’ve now enabled it on my system
