This is not a biggie. If the solution is simple, I would rather implement it. But if it’s complex, I can’t be bothered.
Setting
I have a Cerbo connected to my router/AP by wire. The router gets internet directly from an ISP. The Cerbo is always live through batteries or PV.
The router is connected to a UPS. The UPS gets AC power either from the grid or my quattro via a transfer switch. So the router has power 24/7. In addition to the Cerbo Ethernet, it has security cameras and it gives out a WiFi signal to create LAN.

Issue
I can only access the remote console on my Cerbo over LAN when I have internet although I’m using a local IP or “venus.local”. I can see both the local and public IP. Of course, the Public IP doesn’t work without internet. Worse still, even with internet, the remote console can’t be accessed with local or public IP unless I have power from grid or quattro.
With internet on but no grid or quattro (router/AP running on UPS), I can access the security cameras and other internet sites but not the Cerbo. I can log into VRM but my data from Cerbo is not live.
During these occasions, I have to connect to the Cerbo though Bluetooth or directly through the Venus AP. That works like a charm. Weirdly, the Cerbo says VRM is offline but remote support is shown as online.
Both I and my networking gurus are stumped. Anybody got a clue?
Do you have, or have you ever had, both GX interfaces in use - wifi and ethernet port?
What router are you using? Have you tried to reboot it?
It does sound like a routing/arp/filtering type issue.
The router is Tenda (is that a reputable brand?). See picture. LAN LED appears off but it actually keeps flashing green.
The router was delivered new and configured onsite by the ISP agent. It’s about a month old. But it’s largely a black box which makes troubleshooting nearly impossible.
The Cerbo is also about a month old, never used. I never used WiFi (except its own AP) on it. It has always been Ethernet.
Both devices have been cycled many times for other reasons. The situation remains the same.
Not one of my favourites, it is a bit of a budget device. My inlaws had one that needed a regular reboot to work reliably.
Service providers should never lock your router. Makes it difficult to find issues.
The lan cable to the GX should get a solid led on the port if properly connected.

LAN LED states:
Solid on - The LAN port is connected. No data is being transmitted.
Blinking - The LAN port is transmitting data.
