I can’t get “local time” to update. My VRM reports UTC. The auto-generated location is accurate, which I thought was all that was required. I can’t find anything in the GlobalLink settings to force it to local time. Thanks for your help!
Are your GX Device and VRM locations set differently?
I don’t have a GX device in this network. The GlobalLink 520 connects to the portal and transmits data from two connected smart devices. I can’t find any setting for time in the GlobalLnk 520.
You can’t have VRM without a gx device. A Gx device, like the Cerbo GX or Ekrano, is required to connect your system to VRM portal and enable remote monitoring. The time zone for the Global Link is autogenerated based on where the Global link is located, you are saying that is accurate. Are you trying to update the time zone in VRM? Can you clarify?
I have two systems, one with a GX device and the other with a Globallink 520, both of which are directly accessible via VRM
The Globallink 520 only updates every 15 minutes and has limited read only connectivity and monitoring, but the time is correct. The location is set manually in VRM settings tab
Sorry, I was incorrect in the previous post. You can connect GlobalLink to VRM.
Thanks for the pics, it helped clarify your question. You are trying to get the time stamp from GlobalLink to show in the local time field in VRM? Sounds like the time stamp should transmit to VRM like you say but maybe that’s a feature not yet available and could be available through a software update? @Yachtbird & @lxonline could either of you help? You seem to be well experienced with Victron.
I wasn’t the OP - just posting my experience to confirm I have a GL520 working with VRM and time showing correctly.
Hopefully some help to the OP @Henigson
@DSeptembre I am sorry but not sure how the system works with the Globallink 520. When the location is set in VRM the timezone is set automatically if you have the CerboGX but without CerboGX I am not sure.

Thanks for the screenshot. My VRM seems to default to displaying UTC rather than my local time. It would appear that your location is at UTC, so there wouldn’t be a discrepancy, at least now. What happens during your “summer time” change? Does your local time update?
I’m not sure as I just installed the GL520 on this secondary system last November.
However it was on my main system before that for a year or so, and I don’t recall any time discrepancies. The LTE-M signal was very weak though, so it kept dropping off for hours, hence the change to the GX device on that one.
