Cannot connect to EVCS

I have a new EVCS and have updated the firmware to 2.03:5.2 via Victron Connect. Prior to the update I could access via Victron Connect but not with web browser. Now Victron connect returns “no devices found” and both Safari and Chrome return “cannot connect to EVCS…”
I have tried resetting with the def button and powering of the unit overnight.
The screen on the unit shows W-101Initial setup not completed.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello @Petesals . Once you reset with the DEF button, EVCS Wi-Fi goes into Access Point mode. For some EVCS devices, Bluetooth can be disabled in the default state, so you have to perform the initial setup procedure over a Wi-Fi connection. Please check this manual — it describes how to do that.

Hi Nicolas, I can see the EVCS in the wifi list but usually get a “cannot connect to evcs…” response. After I reset everything I can get to the Victron login page, but that always hangs on “loading….” I have tried this with my iPhone and 3 different browsers on my laptop.

If you see “Loading…”, that means you’re already connected to the EVCS Wi-Fi network.
Try reducing the distance between the EVCS and your phone or laptop to improve the signal strength while opening the EVCS web interface.

Also, it might be helpful if you could provide some screenshots, so we can see more details — such as which Wi-Fi network you’re connected to and which IP address you’re using to access the web interface, etc…

Thanks for your help Nicolas, I had the laptop less than 1 metre from the EVCS and definitely connected to the correct AP.
I have now taken the unit back to the dealer for further testing/repair. I will let the community know the result.

I ultimately took the EVCS back to the dealer who tested it and confirmed the communication failure. They replaced the main board. It now works perfectly
I also found the Victron service website helpful in that they can link the device serial number back to the original dealer and put you in touch.
