A quick check: does this hourly reboot happen only when “Reboot device when no contact” is enabled, or does it always reboot if it doesn’t detect internet access ?
I’m planning to hammer down severely (maybe even cut off completely) the internet access rights of my GX device in the near future and a reboot every hour due to that would be very unwelcome.
I just pitched “The Victron GX system can be ran completely offline” to a customer, if that turns out to be untrue it could be a deal-breaker.
“VRM Portal” can be set to “Off” so I’m really hoping the “no internet reboot” is a misunderstanding between us
You can disable the feature under settings>vrm and also set the required delay.
I never enable that setting, just double and triple checking that there’s no hardcoded parameter somewhere in Venus OS (3.60) that makes it reboot if it doesn’t detect internet, no matter what.
There is no such parameter. No worries.

Yes, rebooting when there is no internet is an optional feature, configured in the VRM menu on the GX.
We have many thousands of GX devices on boats at sea that go long times without internet.
