I have a Victron 330 AH with BMS V1, 712 smartshunt, multiplus, Remote panel & Cerbo GX. Can I get the BMS to manage the battery instead of either the shunt or multiplus?
No, the Victron Smart BMS V1 does not manage the chargers, it only manages the shut down on high or low cell voltages and temperatures. The charging is managed by the settings in the chargers themselves.
Thanks, if I upgrade to BMS V2 will that work for me?
The BMS V2 does not manage charging either, the individual chargers control themselves. The benefit of the V2 device is that it connects to a GX device and chargers connected to the GX are shut down directly via DVCC and do not need wiring via the remote ports.
Cheers, many thanks
