Battery monitor with auxiliary temperature sensing

I have Venus GX connected to Smartshunt via VE Direct usb cable. As the Venus only has two temp sensors I want to free the one used for batt temp for something else. So, I bought a yellow tagged bat temp sensor (ASS000100000) unplugged the +pos from the shunt and plugged in the red cable from the temp sensor, the black cable went to the Aux terminal on the shunt and lastly bolted the temp sensor to +pos terminal on the battery.
Problem I have is the aux temp sensor does not show up on VRM Device List or anywhere else but the Smartshunt does.

Is there a setting on the Venus GX that I have to enable to tell it to see the aux temp sensor that I just installed rather than the generic sensor previous which is now used elsewhere?

TIA

You have to use VictronConnect on your phone to connect to the SmartShunt to tell it to enable the aux connection and that it is used for temperature because it can be used for many different readings.

See section 4.3.4 in the manual. Once you do that it should come automatically into the GX.

Unfortunately I don’t have smartphone so I used VC on Windows PC which is on the same network as Victron system. I was able to go to Smartshunt > Settings > Misc > Aux Input and change the setting from None to Temperature.

The batt temp (Smartshunt) value now shows in remote console along with the two generic temp sensors connected to Venus GX, which is exactly what I wanted.

Thanks for the help
