Battery Mix

Hello Community, I have a question regarding Pytes battery systems mixing or operating mixed…

My current setup:

3x Multiplus II 5000, 48V

Ekrano, 2x MPPT 250/100

and 2x Pytes V5a

I would like to expand this with 2x Pytes E-Box 48100. Is that possible? If yes, what is the best way to implement and set it up?

Does anyone have a tip for me, since the BMS apparently cannot communicate with each other…

Thanks and best regards,

Manuel

I think that’s more a question for Pytes directly.

But why expanding with the E-Box 48100?
As far as I know that’s the old model and the V5 is the current model.

Thanks for your quick reply!

Since the two systems are very similar, and the main significant differences are the heater and the BMS – which I don’t really need anymore because the installation site has changed and it’s no longer as cold as before – the older system is just as efficient but up to €300 cheaper per 5 kWh.

I was thinking that maybe I could set up two separate stacks – one with the V5a and one with the E-Box – and run them separately on the Ekrano… That’s kind of what I had in mind, if it’s possible…

From the Victron side it’s not really supported to have more than one battery system.

It will recognize both batteries but it can only use one for DVCC to control the other devices (MultiPlus, MPPT etc.)
