Arghh...“Unable to connect to GX. Reload or check network configuration”

Hi Folks;

I have been trying to get my Android tablet to connect to the Cerbo for the Android GX display to work, and it doesn’t / won’t no matter what.

I did the factory reset on the android tablet (Galaxy Tab A8) and used the QR code. The Cerbo and the tablet are on the same 2.4Ghz network. I get the black screen saying Victron Energy Loading….

Security settings on the Cerbo are set to the weakest. It’s been re-started. I tried enabling the Cerbo’s network and connected the tablet to that. Same thing. The Cerbo has the latest firmware.

On my laptop, if I go to;

https://192.168.10.64/gui-v2/?fullscreen - I get the same black screen with the loading… If I use my laptop and go to;

https://venus.local/gui-v2/ - I get the same black screen loading…

At this point, I think I’ve tried everything I can think of. It must be a problem or setting on the Cerbo, I would think, given that neither the tablet nor the laptop can connect to the remote console through the web browser.

Does anyone know what could be causing this?

You first tried connecting over your home Wifi, so the Cerbo was a client connected to your home wifi, as well as the tablet? Are you sure that 192.168.10.64 is the correct local IP?

And then you also tried by enabling the cerbos own access point, with the tablet connected to the cerbos own wifi as a client?

And both times you were able to select the cerbo as a target in the dropdown menu, in the Android GX setup menu?

Do you use VRM, does the remote console work there?

I also had some issues connecting an old phone to a cerbo once, but using the cerbos own access point. It used to work fine at first, but when the phone was switched off and on again, the connection failed, but i cant remember if it was getting stuck on the same black loading screen. Essentially i switched the phone, it had some issue re-establishing the connection after a restart i assume

Yes, on all questions :slight_smile:

VRM and the remote console in VRM works. I’ve tried restarting both the Cerbo and the phone - nothing.

Apart from trying with another device i have no idea then. But hopefully someone else

I think I’ll give up on it, not sure it will ever work given the effort I’ve put into it. I even made a separate 2.4Ghz only network for both the Cerbo and the Tablet to connect to. Still no dice. But thanks for looking into it for me!

IP Adress/gui-v2/

I guess, it should be http not https

Hello Bob,

have you tried it? It is also possible to use:

http://einstein/gui-v2/

You need to allow unsafe http in the Browser.
