Why won't my Android tablet connect to the cerbo?

Have had this working on a Lenovo M8 with a Cerbo S (running FW 3.55), and has been working fine for a couple of months now.
Have now upgraded to a Cerbo 2 (running FW 3.60) and the display was very unstable and had to be reconnected almost every time after the screen went into standby. Have reinstalled the application on the tablet, but now it is locked on screen saying “Unable to connect to GX. Reload or check network configuration”. It is definitely connected to the Cerbo access point, but cannot get it out of this screen. Hitting the reload button does nothing. Any ideas?

Can an Android tablet be connected to the Ethernet port of the Cerbo using an Ethernet to USB C adapter?

We’ll look into this.
Can you check if the tablet is actually connected to the GX access point?

Open the settings, go to wifi and see if it is connected to the correct access point, also try to forget the wifi network you used to install the app.

@jperez, yes, done both those and definitely connected.

Although it says “Won’t automatically connect”. Below image is taken when I had it connected to my phone hotspot, I don’t have one of when it was connected to the Cerbo, but you can see the Won’t automatically connect fault.

Have you installed the app via the QR code method? If that is the case try the following:

  1. Go to Android settings and remove all the Wi-Fi networks.
  2. Open the hidden menu and click on the Wi-Fi settings (but not the Android settings one).
  3. Connect to the Cerbo access point.
  4. Open the hidden menu and click on “Search for devices”
  5. Select the Cerbo.

This might improve the connection issues.

Hi there. I have the same problem! Did you manage to fix it? Do you mind please tell me how you did it?
I’ve done what the Victron staff recommends, but I get stuck in the same page than you.
Cheers!!

I am having the same/similar problem. I connect directly to the Cerbo using the access point, however, if it goes to sleep I have quite an ordeal getting it to reconnect. Under wifi connections it lists the cerbo but says it will not automatically connect/no internet. When I do have a wifi available that has internet it reconnects with no issues. The problem is that I boondock a lot and don;t always have internet. This is using an Onn 7" tablet.

I have the same issue. I thought it was the cheap/generic tablet I bought to use as a GX display. Today, I bought a better/name brand tablet and I am disappointed to see that the more expensive one does the same thing.

I have found out that going to the Android WiFi settings and telling it to reconnect makes it work again, although temporarily. Like others have said, it says will not connect automatically. No matter how many times I tell it to connect automatically, it resets and fails to connect later.

After buying 2 tablets for this feature, I guess the lesson learned is I should have bit the bullet and bought the dedicated Victron display.

I have apk installation and regularly have to go into android settings to disable WiFi and re-enable to get it working.

Apart from this it is brll
