Adding Second smart shunt to monitor Wind turbine doesn’t show in VRM

Hi,

I bought an additional shunt to monitor the wind turbine. I selected Wind as the charging source(on smartshunt menu) and I would have 2 objections to make:

1. It is not displayed in vrm but only locally on the cerbo gx screen

2. In node red there is no option to display or send the instant power (in watts).

After a 4-5 year experience with Victron, I believe that these functionalities should be added in the future because they can help users.

The only option is to set the smart shunt as the charging source -PV. But it is not ok…this is exactly the idea, once there is the option of wind, alternator etc etc you can monitor it correctly from a distance.

Thanks!

The topic of wind energy utilization and representation has been discussed frequently and at length. Victron will probably not invest any energy in this area for the time being, as the market to be covered is simply too small in this performance category. Try using the search function with the keyword “wind” … you’re sure to find what you’re looking for …

Hi @Flo1

Thanks for the post.

DC charge sources not showing individually on the VRM dashboard is a known limitation, and the team has a feature request to add them.

There is no time frame yet, but they are aware.

I don’t know about the node red element, but can’t you do that kind of calculation yourself and have node red multiply voltage x amps with the output sent to a new power node?

Thanks for the answer! Yes it would be very useful to implement it in the future not only for wind power but for any type of charging. For example maybe it would be good if there was an option to replace the DC power column in the vrm with what you need, for example wind or alternator or hydro or generator. It’s just an idea.

I will try to combine the values in node red for that. Thank you!
