First post, We purchased a bus conversion to live in around 12 months ago and recently in the West Australian heat find the system not able to keep up with our usage.
So being total Victron Newbs we purchased a new Inverter Generator to help.
How should it be connected to the system?
AC or DC, 230v or 48v ??
How much power ?
The system is 10.5 kw storage, 2.6kw solar panel in a 48v system, generator is 230v 50hz,
Then just plug the shore power plug into the generator when you need it.
No fuzz needed.
I hope it delivers at least 3kw
Thats what I thought too …
but no incoming power is seen on the GX Touch screen..
There is a AC IN Line designated to “Generator” but… nothing there either…
no, should do 2.2kw constant.. didnt have room for a 3kw one…
It probably won’t work with the 5000 muliplus, it not showing up probably means it won’t even connect.
Victron has made some software modifications for use with generators, you should update the multi to v556, then turn off “weak ac” and ups.
Might connect then
Is updating the Multiplus something I can do?
You need a pc, an interface and the software…
Or ask your supplier if he can do it for you.
