Activate Orion XS DC-DC Charger to Cerbo GX Connection

I had a local Victron dealer connect my two Orion XS 12-12 50A dc-dc chargers to my Cerbo GX on my boat. That firm has since closed its doors. The connection was 2 Orions => 2 VE.Direct cables => USB Hub => USB Cable => Cerbo USB port. Using VRM, the Orions show up on the VRM device list as last seen 2 months ago, but do not appear in the classic or new Remote Console device list. Incidentally, no Orion-Cerbo connection existed two months ago. The Orion manual says “Connect the Orion XS to the GX device using a VE.Direct cable. It will then automatically appear in the device list of the GX device.” I believe that has been done, and the Orions are on the VRM device list although the “2 months ago” statement raises some doubt regarding accuracy. The do not appear on the remote console device list. The manual further states, “To get to the Orion XS detail page, tap the Orion in the Device list. The detail page offers the following options:” Tapping on the Orion in the VRM device list generates not the detail page shown in the Orion manual but this:

It appears the manual is referring to the remote console device list where the Orions are absent and not the VRM device list where they appear. I think the answer is clear but I have to ask just in case. Is there any way to fix or activate the Orion-Cerbo connection without being on the boat and connecting to the Orions via Bluetooth? The boat is in Annapolis and I am at home in Denver at the moment.

Thanks, Bob

Unlikely. VRM shows whatever the Cerbo is transmitting to it. If the Orions are not visible in the remote console device list then they also wont show up in VRM. What you are seeing in VRM is the last time they were connected to the Cerbo.

You could try to reboot the Cerbo in order to reset the USB connection, with some risk of the Cerbo not properly booting anymore.

Since the connection to the Cerbo is over VE.direct and USB, no bluetooth will fix this. Worst case you would have to trace cables. Id start at the common USB cable and the hub since both Orions disconnected together

As I feared. Thank you for the clear analysis.
