My Cerbo GX displays the solar mppt supply to my battery but does not show the Orion XS 12/12 50A as a charge source on the touch 70 display. Both are connected via ve.direct cables and both are visible (as is the data for both) on the list of devices on the cerbo-gx via the touch 70 screen. What am I doing wrong? Why is it not on the scematic?
What’s more, if I disconnect the PV input to my mppt PV charger, i can still see it on the touch 70 because it’s still connected to the battery and it shows 0W output as expected, but still I cant see the DC/DC charge on the schematic. However if I go to the list of devices on the touch 70 I can see that the DC/DC is supplying 8.9A and 109W to the battery. The Cerbo and Touch 70 were not cheap but do not perform as expected. Note, when I select the DC/DC from the list of devices it says it’s connected via VE.Direct but on the previous page the “Network Status” states "stand alone”
Not every device will be displayed on the schematics … and the orion is one of them.
That’s terrible. It’s one of my major charge sources. Very annoying
The XS is a new device and the scrren display is towards end if life. The gui is currently being upgraded and should show more info but is still in beta testing and should be out soon as production release. If you wish you can try beta release, head to that section of the community.
GuiMods adds some additional devices to the overview tile. DC-DC charger is not one of them but Alternator is. You need to select GuiMods DC Coupled for the overview style to get these.
Victron’s gui-v2 is in beta and provides many more devices on the overview screen. You might look into that as well. You need to be running beta firmware to see the option to select gui-v2.
Many thanks. I’ll look at the GUIs and take it from there.
I’m a bit late to this party but in a similar vein, I have added a VE.Direct dongle to my IP22 charger <> RPi Venus.OS and that too appears in the device list and VictronConnect showing the charge stats and also VRM and the Tablet (v1.00beta4) but outside of the settings, no sign of the charger.
I’m guessing that because it doesn’t have a factory VE.Direct interface it’s not included in the GUI-device library?
This is confirmed with you check the firmware updates via the VRM as it says:
“Blue Smart IP22 Charger 12/15 (1) A32C v3.61 N/A Product not in library”
Given it’s just a charger and I think the IP43 is supported, I wonder if the IP22 could be supported by the GUI with a tweak somewhere (assuming the IP43 appears in the GUI)?
