I have a Victron setup in my RV: Multiplus 2, SmartBMV, two Smartsolar controllers and Color Control GX. I just finished updating the firmware on the solar units and BMV. I also updated the firmware on the CCGX. The firmware on the GX went from 2.18 → 3.62
Now I see this notification: #51 mk3 firmware needs update
um yeah thanks I guess. There are no options for updating the Multiplus firmware from within the CCGX. I can read all the firmware version numbers… but there are no options for updating any of the firmware.
Given that, I am asking what is the process for updating the MK3?
I appreciate the frankness. But its not like I’m a total idiot. There are NO options for updating the MK3 from within my CCGX. So, I will ask again: is there another method of updating it?
I am reading other posts that seem to suggest that updating an older CCGX to a recent firmware creates some headaches and then requires MK3 updates. Should I downgrade the CCGX firmware to a slightly older version … say 3.4 ??
First, I apologize for typo in my original post: I have a Multiplus - not a MultiPlus II. Maybe this makes a difference.??
All of the parameters in the Device → Multiplus page are static with no ability to dive deeper or update. I can read the version but not update them like I was able for the CCGX unit itself.
Hello, I had the same notification as you on my new Multiplus II 48V 5000 x2. I noticed it last night on 7//11. I just clicked the update button with zero issues. My new Cerbo S GX is on firmware version 3.62. I used the VRM portal on my PC. Hope this helps.
Maybe the jump was a bit much and something happened in translation.
I would install from an sd card 3.40 or 42.
Update the MK3
Then update to the newer firmware.
