CCGX on v3.60 - should this be downgraded to v3.55?

After asking some questions here today about our EasySolar Inverter system I have been going through everything (but not touching or changing anything) and have found that the CCGX is on ver 3.60 !

Is this of concern? or at least enough of a concern to downgrade the firmware to v3.55? If the CCGX is left at 3.60 will this be the cause of any KNOWN issues?

What is concerning me is how did this CCGX get the ver 3.60 firmware on it? Do these units do automatic updates ? Reading around here it says Victron has limited these devices to only going as far as 3.55 and that the only new firmware for these CCGX’s will be critical bugfixes and may result in a ver 3.56 for example.

So how on earth did this CCGX get onto 3.60 ?

Other issue is the multiplus 5000/48/70-100 (older model) is currently on firmware ver 474. Latest for this inverter is 557. Reading around here the advice seems to be if its working ok and doing what we need then dont touch it. Would that the be the recommended case here ?

no, unless it is causing issues.

See Index of /feeds/venus/release/images/ccgx we still release images for the CCGX. They are just not installed online by default anymore. You can still install them manually. You can easily push a CCGX over its limits though.

OK thanks. At this time there is only 1 solar charge device - we will be adding another mppt to the system - i Have read that issues only occur on most of the units that give any trouble is when the system gets to 3 solar charge devices or more - I cant see going beyond one more mppt on this system so we are most likely good - but just for security I may get it downgraded to 3.55 when our repaired Freedom One battery that failed on us comes back from repair.

Thank you for your reply,
