#20 Maximum bulk time exceeded

We have now had the following error on the PSC IP43 12/50 twice:

#20 Maximum bulk time exceeded.

This happens when we come into port and want to connect shore power. It was not enough to pull the plug out and plug it back in. We had to remove all power on the boat, and then start over with all plugs/relays and wires. Then we were able to fully charge the consumer battery.

But now (3 days later) we have just had the same problem again, when we want power from land. So again we have to take all power from the boat. And after it works again.

How do we solve this problem going forward?
Can we make a reset som place in the app?
Must we change the bulk time - now it’s 10 hour.
We are running FirmeWare: v3.61

battery lithium 480 a

That charger really is too small for such a large battery, especially if it is covering any DC loads whilst charging or is derating below 50A due to heat. Have you checked how much of the output is actually charging the battery. You should consider increasing the bulk time to make sure the shutdown is avoided.

The error come right away when we start charting from land.

And the bulk said 10 hour - but we only charting for 1 minute - then the error come .

If we take all power of / connection out - and start it up again - then we can charting to 100% .

The problem is new. We have use the batteri and the charter for about 1 year now. Whit out problems

The output it 50 A .

Can we remove the bulktime or must we set the bulk to maybe 15 hour?

Try it with a longer setting so hopefully it never needs that much. Ideally you should have an on off switch on the ac supply to the charger and an isolator on the output so you can power down just the charger. However it sounds like you have a fault on the charger.

Well. I have the same problem and same version 3.16.

Charger has worked fine for a year in my motorhome. I’m using a 210Ah litiumbattery with built in bms.

Disconnected. Shore power but problem still exist even if i increase bulk time to 15 hours.

turning of shore power does not work since it’s still connected to the battery.
