New VE.Direct to MQTT bridge service (Raspberry Pi) available at GitHub

If you're looking for a simple, lightweight way to interface a Raspberry Pi with a BMV-702 (and others) using the serial/VE.Direct protocol, be sure to check out my recently uploaded project on GitHub:

https://github.com/TheWandrr/vebus_to_mqtt

I can't help with basic first steps but will be happy to interact with technically competent users. Feedback and enhancements are welcomed.

Hey super cool! One note, as you probably know, the name of the repo says VE.Bus, but its VE.Direct. And they are or the same.

I’d rename it, and add one with the old name with only a readme in it, redirecting.

Thanks for pointing this out. I've never cared for the naming and this is a remnant of some early confusion I had.

I've updated the repository name and (I hope) all references in the source to reflect the change. Apparently github has automatic redirection after renaming so the original link will work, but the new link is as follows:

Now if only I could get some assistance figuring out why the VE.Direct port doesn't seem to appreciate having the PI connected to it:
