I can feed my MPPT250I70 with a DC power supply for testing communications?

Hi everyone, I need to do communication tests between my venus GX and my MPPT250I70 in a lab. I'm not sure if I can power my charge controller with a lab source. if possible, where should it be powered, by battery connectors or pv connectors? thanks for your help

While not recommended for any length of time, you can power up the MPPT by connecting an appropriate voltage power supply to either the battery or PV terminals for testing.

The MPPT can be powered from either.

The MPPT is designed to be connected to a battery and solar panels, so that is the preferred supply to test with if possible.
