Do I have a problem with ESS?


Hi I'm Marian
My off-grid installation consists of: 
Inverter MultiPlus 12/3000 / 120-50 Firmware version 465;
Venus GX Firmware version v2.33;
Battery Monitor BMV-700 Firmware version v3.10; 
Controller Xantrax MMPT60x150; 8 panel 200W
PV Inverter Fronius Primo6.0-1; 15 panel 320W. 

1. When installing ESS assisant whatever it is in VE config 3 is not found in VRM.
 Why? What's wrong? 
2. How do I disable grid code selection Germany? I accidentally entered without a password and I cannot unblock grid Germany anymore.

Hi @Marian Rada. It seems that you have loaded the old hub 2 assistant instead of ESS. Can you confirm?

I do not know, another is not in the list. Where do I get a newer one?

This path sends me to my computer and I have no assistants. How do I get a newer one?

Hi Marian.

If you are *really* offgrid, then perhaps the only Assistant you might need is this one (to look after the Fronius): https://www.victronenergy.com/live/assistants:pv-inverter-support

Even a backup grid input is little different to a generator input. Don't install this stuff unless you need it. Do you? Special needs?

Yes I'm off-grid. But I also charge with a petrol generator through the MultiPlus occasionally when they are left without the sun.

If your Fronius is working/charging, then so must that assistant be. Mustn't it?? VRM itself won't show that, but Remote Console should.

Your system (the genny a giveaway) is little different to mine, except for the ac-coupled Fronius. I run neither ESS, nor any assistants, and all works well.

Perhaps best to dump/ignore the stuff you don't need.

I would recommend you to go hire a professional installer or visit a Victron training.

Are you from Germany? If yes, von wo genau? ;)

Wir (Service Team Döbeln) bieten Mitte März eine Schulung an in deran auch viel praktisch testen kann.

Doesn't anyone know how to disable this?
I activated "Germany" and now I can not return.
He did not ask for my password upon activation.
Instead he asks password me to disable it.

Good Day. Try Re installing To the latest firmware. Download firmware from Victron Proffessional. First check existing Firmware and download the latest version. First 4 digits must remain the Same. Last 3 is the Version.
