Faulty charger (MPPT 100/30)?
I have 2 arrays, and 2 chargers: MPPT 100/30 (“Big Panel”) and MPPT 100/20 charging 4 parallel Li batteries (12V, 200Amp each). Both PV arrays give ~250W each.
Both are networked. 4 weeks ago both worked fine (see history below) with a combined charge current of ~350W. Now the MPPT 100/30 shows 0W (see screen shots below), when on the network it only shows the MPPT 100/20 output, nothing from the 100/30. How can I determine if the charger is defective?
I checked everything: settings are the same.
When I checked the MPPT battery contacts in standalone (no network) without batteries connected but PV connected I observed that the + battery contact fluctuates from 1.7 – 2.8V. This is not the case with my other chargers.
More observations:
When connected to battery: Bulk charge, blue light 1 sec blink, but 0W charge
When connected to network: initially goes into float (green LED), then bulk again. Shows total charge current of both arrays but only the 100/20 is contributing.
