MPPT connected to battery with no solar input

Is it ok to leave my MPPT connected to the battery for extended periods of time without any solar input?

@stvaughn

Will it damage the mppt? No.

Will you battery have a small parasite load? Yes.

So leaving it connected depends on length of time will drain the battery.

If lifepo4 it might go Into a sleep mode (to prevent a deep discharge like that).

If lead based will possibly be damaged (but then long periods without maintenance the damage will still happen due to self discharge.)
