SmartSolar Fixed Abs Time Incorrect

For my SmartSolar 250/60, I use a fixed absorption time of 15 min and tail current is disabled. This worked well, no problems.

Now that I have added a 150/45 and new PV array to the system, I set that unit to have the same settings as the 250/60. I was expecting a 15 min abs time to occur but now get only 3 min for both units. I need it to be 15min for the battery I am using. Both MPPTs are feeding the same Lifpo4 battery.

Any idea why this happening?

The manual states--

which implies that I should be getting the set 15 min.

Here are the settings I have on both MPPTs--

see, 3min, not 15

Any ideas gang?

Thanks!

@Jonathan Drewes more details plz.

VE Can model mppt's?

Using DVCC?

VE Smart networking?

Does a BMS control charging? What BMS & battery?

From the screen shot, BMS controlled = YES. A new feature?

VE Can model mppt's? No.

Using DVCC? No.

VE Smart networking? Yes. Seems to be working as expected.

Does a BMS control charging? No, but having the comm cable from the battery to the Cerbo-S to give me the SOC reading must cause this BMS controlled = YES to happen.

What BMS & battery? Its a Trophy battery https://trophybattery.com/ with an unknown Chinese BMS in it.

From the screen shot, BMS controlled = YES. A new feature? This is shown as the same when just one MPPT is connected.

So, disconnecting the Bluetooth smart network solved the issue here. In watching the 2 units charge on the VictronConnect screen, they do seem to be in sync, letting one unit deliver the abs charge but both say they are in the same state.

THANK YOU ALEXANDRA !!!!

Also, both MPPTs are using v1.61 firmware.

Cerbo-S is v2.92 if that matters.

Have you tried ...

  • Shut down the PV power
  • Shut down the Battery power.
  • Wait a minute
  • Enable Battery power
  • Enable PV power

See if that solves the problem.

No, but I'll try that. Not sure how that could help but maybe it does.

Disable the smart network, you have a GX the two aren't designed to work together.

See limitations point2.

Bms control should only be on if your BMS is comms (can or other) connected.

OK, I will try that and report back.

I do not understand why this should be disconnected though. Dont we want to have the V and i shared from my smart shunt to the Mpps so they can get a more accurate reading?
