ESS Schedule charge not working (new system)

Hi,

The system is newly installed:

Quattro

Lynx Shunt

Cerbo GX

DIY LiFePO4

The scheduled charge should be 23:30 - 05:30

Timezone UTC

Last night it ignored the scheduled charge at 23:30. The battery was in a low state of charge, and I noticed the SOC figure was showing as "--" on the GX

I manually changed ESS mode to "Keep batteries charged" and they charged correctly overnight.

Today I've changed it back to Optimised (without BatteryLife) as this is the mode I want.

Could the scheduled charge have been ignored because of the "missing" SOC or are these completely unrelated issues?

The only post I've found about schedule charge problems was related to UTC time zone (which I'm using) ?

Is there anything else I should check?

I'll see if it works tonight!

Just to confirm the schedule charge worked the night after the battery was manually charged.

I could be wrong but it looks to be as if scheduled charging is ignored until the battery is cycled and it's SOC is displayed.

It won't work if you have no SOC. So you need to work out why you have no SOC.

Is the BMS causing issues, or blocking the pack because of over discharging, cell imbalance etc?

You are discharging low.

There is a reason the saying goes, special batteries = special problems. ;)

ESS and sched charging is a proven tech, if you aren't charging, you need to sort out the BMS/shunt to make sure it is operating fine.
