Multiplus II ESS negative gridpoint to discharge/use battery

Hi,

I've got a battery set up in a mobile environment with a MultiPlus II, Cerbo and MPPT charge controller.

When plugging in shorepower, using the ESS setting to feed excess solar power into the shorepower (grid) is easy enough.

A quick experiment with using a negative gridpoint shows that the MPII can feed power from the battery into the garage/house, I can see the effect on the power meter in the utility closet.

But I was wondering if it's possible to discharge the battery, preferably during the night, to feed power into the garage/home. I noticed you can schedule charging from grid to batterty, but not the other way around.

Questions:

  1. Is using a negative grid point an unwanted work around or is it valid usage (in this case, for a mobile systems, where the garage/house is obviously not connected to "AC OUT" of the MPII).
  2. Will a scheduled discharge be available in the software?

Any thoughts?

With regards,

Martijn

Load the large image on the GX, you can then use node red to use whatever logic you like, to change the setpoint. Nothing wrong with doing it this way.

OK, thank you.

I've found "how to install Venus OS Large" here ( https://www.victronenergy.com/live/start?do=search&id=venus-os%3Alarge&q=#how_to_install_and_update ) and given that I just updated to v2.90 normal, this was very easy to do.
