I have a Victron Energy Phoenix True Sinewave Inverter 12/500 120V VE.Direct NEMA 5-15R , on the 110v side I am getting an open ground, I have tired grounding everywhere recommended, when I swap out to my old inverter it tests fine and shows it is grounded..Do you have any ideas of what could be wrong with the Victron?
The AC Outlet of this inverter is floating and does not have a true neutral. In other words, neither of the AC Out terminals are referenced to ground.
GFCI devices, for instance, will not work without a true neutral.
Have you followed the Safety Instructions on page 1 of the manual?
"The AC output is isolated from the DC input and the chassis. Local regulations may require a true neutral. In this case one of the AC output wires must be connected to the chassis, and the chassis must be connected to a reliable ground. Please note that a true neutral is needed to ensure correct operation of an earth leakage circuit breaker."
