ESS MultplusII charging despite disabled

Hello,

In one installation I have a multiples II working as ESS.

Charging is disabled, but last night it charged from the grid. How to turn it off?

I was under the impression it cannot charge from grid if charger is disabled.

The PV system is all DC. Battery level was at the set lowest 15%.

Check your 'sustain' voltage in the ESS assistant

@Paul. The options are off.

@ Boekel. Sustain voltage is set to 48.00V as it is a Pylontech battery. The current voltage is 48.70 at 26%. It was for sure over 48.00V.

The active SOC was changed to from 15% to 20 and then 25%, which is expected. So over night it has charged to 26%

I suspect that is has to do with minimum SOC. I want the system to wait a few days to have a better weather for PV.

This change in the SOC that would be why.

(The active SOC was changed to from 15% to 20 and then 25%, which is expected. So over night it has charged to 26% )

As it would have tried to fill the batteries back to this level

My settings are as below, and I find that as soon as the active level is reached, then any more power needed is drawn from the grid so that the SOC is not lowered

I am not seeing my ACTIVE SOC change though by its self that is.

Currently I am quite happy with how this is working FOR MYSELF that is

My system is a multiplus 48/5000 FW 433

GX Venus FW 2.23

Litto 5Kw Grid Tie inverter with 4.5 Kw on 2 strings

48 volt 20Kw LP batteries with a 123smart BMS

Last night it has charged to the new active SOC limit of 30%.

Is there a possibility to really deactivate the charger. The software deactivation is a fake switch.

have a look in the assistants and there settings

also try turning on the charger and set the charge current to 0 (ZERO)

also lower the chargers voltages to below battery voltage

Ok so you are using the 'battery life' mode in ESS, that's for Lead-Acid batteries.
Use 'optimised without battery life' to prevent this happening.
