What happens if a 250v controller gets a little too much voltage in cold weather?

Let’s say the voltage went up a little past 250v in the winter. Will it just produce less power? Or will it damage the mppt controller?

The panels give more volts in colder weather. You should check the panel specs, there will be Voc, usually at 25C. Also a temp compensation in Volts/C. Calculate temp difference between winter and 25C. Add this to the panel voltage and multiply up by the number of panels. You'll probably be surprised how far your panels can over volt the MPPT. Time for an urgent rewire?
