Ess disabing mptt when in passthru ?

Hello ..

I run an ess with dc coupled pv. Meaning the multiplus will drive the mppt.org

I noticed that when the ess is in passthru (eg because it has lost connection with the energy meter (zigbee)), the gerbo gx reports the mptt charging at 0 watt, ie not charging.

Is this normal ? Or an artefact of the cerbo ?

I am not sure I understand why the ess would disable mppt charging alltogether when in passthru.

I would think it could be deliberate for a few reasons. Most common reasons are listed in the FAQ.

FAQ ESS manual.

Without the grid meter knowing whether feedback is happening is not possible.
