What type of Quattro is it?

Using the Mk2 interface, is it possible to tell from either the version number (V command) or the software version (W 05 command) what type of Quattro or Multiplus is connected?

I Think the V number applies to the Mk2/3 in use,and the firmware version only relates to a 4 byte no, so can only be the firmware version. as per:-

VE.Bus Firmware numbering system
19|41|143
||-------> 19 is the family group number
||-----> 41 is the model: Quattro 24/3000/70-50/30
|||–> 143 is the firmware version.
(this doesn’t come out well)
so with firmware at 556 e.g., 2 bytes can’t hold that number.
searching the interface document does not show a way to access the model. This might be possible to deduce from the RAM Variables:
7.3.3 CommandReadRAMVar
This command can be used to read RAM variables. A list of RAM IDs can be found in
chapter 7.3.11. Not all devices support all variables, refer to CommandGetRAMVarInfo
for information on how to determine which variables are supported, and how to interpret
them.

This would be more relevant, as you would be able to see if AC2 in is supported, if it is, then you have a Quatro, not a multi.

Thank you. That works perfectly. I send ‘W’ 0x05 and it returns with 0x82, 0x0B, 0x83,0x28,0 which is 26/55/499.

26 = new microprocessor 230V

55 = 8kVA Quattro

499 = software version (it’s an old one we’ve had for a while)

Upgraded it to the latest, and now it says:

0x82, 0x46, 0x85, 0x28,0 which is 26/55/558.

Am I correct in thinking that a 5kW 48V Phoenix identifies as a MultiPlus (1959 or 2624 code)?
