VRM: Remote VEConfigure. Problem with opening VEconfig file

So, I have been using remote VE config for years now to look after systems. This morning I have run into an issue that I have not seen before.
When trying to open the file downloaded via VE Remote config I get the following error.

Cannot interpret this file because it is created with a newer version of this program. please obtain the latest version.

The version i am using is the same one I used to modify that latest config for the site.
I uninstalled and reinstalled VEconfig tool set and checked for updates and have the same error.
Config file attached, any ideas @guystewart

c0619ab594f3_inst_ttyS4_Interfaces_Mk2_Tunnel.rvsc (4.4 KB)

New to me as well,
I’ll see what I can find out.

Thanks Guy

Further update for you, this is occurring on all the sites I look after.
Every config gives the same error.

2 more site configs attached.
38d2692bd904_inst_ttyO5_Interfaces_Mk2_Tunnel (1).rvsc (5.2 KB)
78db2f691fb3_inst_ttyO1_Interfaces_Mk2_Tunnel.rvsc (4.9 KB)

What version of VEConfigure are you running?

Version 90.04.238

No update available in the program, I uninstalled and reinstalled from the website as well.

Are you able to open the config files?

Also getting the same error with Multi unit sites in V.E.BUS System Configurator
Site config attached
c0619ab48761_inst_ttyS4_Interfaces_Mk2_Tunnel.rvms (5.6 KB)

Try to uninstall and reinstall VE.config.

After performing a remote firmware upgrade on my 3 phase multiplus system to 552 I can’t open the downloaded .rvms file with VE.Bus System configurator (last version available on the Victron Website 90.09.155 is installed). I am getting the following error:

*** Error in migrate file! The file seems to have a newer format which is not supported by this version of the program. Please update to the latest version ***

Can i get a newer version of VE.Bus System Configurator to solve my problem? or any other idea how to continue?

Thank you beforehand

Rudi

Your VE.config version seems to be older, you should update it.
I’m sure one of the warnings before the update also says that.

As stated in my original post, this was the first thing I did.

Can either yourself @M_Lange or @guystewart open the config files I have posted?? With your V.E.Config that matches mine?

Dear @M_Lange all VE configuration tools have been deinstalled and reinstalled several times. VE.config version installed is 90.04.238 which matches with the one available from the Victron download page.

I am still not able to open the .rvsm created during the firmware upgrade.

I downloaded the current configuration site via the portal. I can’t open this file either. Same error.

Installed the VE Configuration tools from the website https://www.victronenergy.com/Executables/VEConfig/VECSetup_A.exe on a different machine. Same error when trying to open the .rvsm

My ESS is currently inop therefore…

In the meanwhile consider downgrading firmware, while this can be resolved.

All the sites I can’t open have varying firmware versions from 4xx to 5xx.

I can recreate the issue. Have raised internally

Dear Nick,
thank you for your help. Is there any chance, that you can upgrade my .rvsm internally to get my site up again, before this has been solved?

Thank you beforehand

Thanks nick, hopefully a quick and easy fix.

@rwwinter We lack the access for that, and my tools are doing the same thing. I am sure they will figure this out. If you can get onsite with a mk3 you could reprogram it manually, though far less conveniently.

Issue has been found, a new vetools update will be released later today.
If you revert to the official release off beta, it should work with fresh generated files.
It is helpful to report if you’re using betas when opening topics.

Hi Nick,

I am missing something about this comment, I signed up to the IOS VRM beta.

However I am downloading the remote configuration files on a windows PC and trying to edit them using the latest updated version V.EConfig automatically updates to.

Are you saying that by signing up to the IOS VRM beta it changes the web portal?

Or is it the venusos beta version you are referring to?
