I would like to upgrade the Multiplus unit in my Easysolar I from firmware version v494 to the most recent version v552 that is presented on the remote firmware update page. I followed the process (remote update via VRM), got the thumbs-up for a successful upgrade, then uploaded the updated VE Config remote setting file. Everything went smoothly- no errors, no incompatibility message- nothing.
However, the firmware version remains the same: at v494 with no error message or alert of any kind. In my event log, it says βFirmware update - vader- Update firmware for MultiPlus 48/5000/70-100 from version β494β to version β552ββ, and βRemote VEConfigure upload - VEConfigure file uploadedβ. What could be amiss here?
Hello Matthias! I agree, it is not a bad username at all! Here is the screenshot of the firmware version and also of the installation log from the last upgrade attempt, cheers.
This is on the normal VRM website. I originally posted this question in the old community website and then it was migrated here by admin. I have not tried the beta.
How weird. i have just upgraded an old easy solar site from v495 to v552 over the vrm and it was successful. This is going to be a difficult one to reproduce.
What GX do you have? Still the CCGX? Are you using 3.42 there?
Weird indeed. I have got the good old CCGX module, running firmware V2.73. I never thought that was due for updating since in VRM, the CCGX does not show in the list of devices for which a firmware update is possible; so Iβve been on V2.73 all along. Let me see about updating it first- I hope it does not have to be done manually on siteβ¦
I just updated the ccgx to V3.42 and then I was able to update the multiplus to V552. Then I had to update the MK3 firmware and everything went Ok. In brief then, before updating Easysolar multiplus firmware remotely via VRM, one should first update the CCGX firmware from the device menu (accessible on VRM via the Remote Console). Thanks everyone for all the answers!
