We released a couple of improvements to VRM today.
Installation users: We added a modal to confirm before deleting user, team or installation group, to prevent accidentally making a change that cannot be undone.
Advanced: We now connect the data points of custom graphs that display prices or total energy, even when there are times with no data points in between, to prevent the graphs showing only dots.
Device List: We removed the ‘unlink sites’ button from a site’s device list, as unlinking a site from your account most often happens from the user settings of a site.
Installation overview: We added a fix for long installation names overflowing the ‘site name’ column
The changes are reflected automatically the next time you use VRM on any of your devices!
Hello,
I dont know, that has happened after this latest 29.1.2025 update. Now from VRM missing generator data and consumption forecast is totally wrong. This started yesterday. Before this update, everything worked just fine very long time. Im 95% offgrid and I dont use DESS.
Generator is not a real generator, it is a just a special AC load, that Im monitoring with energy meter.
I use latest verion of Google Crome, as always. GX firmware version 3.53
Same problem here. Since two days solar forecast is totally wrong.
In the morning a day forecast of 0.7 kWh (on a sunny cloudless day!) and actual day production 12.6 kWh.
Today the same.
Nothing is really predicted. The forecast simply follows the actual production and the shaded bars predict only a fraction of the actual production.
In the afternoon, as the sun was already beginning to set, the forecast suddenly turned around and much more was predicted than was produced. Almost as much as the installation would produce on a sunny day in July.
Doesn’t make sense anymore.
I just checked your generator question, but I just noticed that besides the 30th and 31st of January, the generator data is plotted on the installation data graph again.
We didn’t make any changes to that graph in the meantime, so hopefully you could resolve it through a site setting.
Regarding the solar forecast, in the metrics of the model accuracy I can recognize your comments: normally the median accuracy of the forecast fluctuates between 75% and 80%, but on the 31st of January as well as the 2nd of February, it dipped to 70%, so you could have definitely noticed that in your site.
We didn’t make changes to the forecast, so if I base it on the Netherlands weather, we have been going from sunny days to very misty days, and the forecast might need some hours to adjust to that.
I can see that since 3 days, the forecast accuracy went back to its normal above 75% accuracy, so I hope you noticed the same.
In the release history of VRM it says on Nov 28, 2024, “you can now change input current limit for RS systems”…
Are there minimum requirements for this?
I have a Multi RS 1.16 and a Venus OS 3.32 and I don’t have such option.
ESS mode and relays are there, but without input current limit…
Looked through changelog for Multi RS and didn’t find something specific.
