VRM Release Notes 20-05-2026

Hi everyone!

We have just released a lot of improvements to VRM, so let me guide you through them  . There’s a lot, so grab a coffee and sit back.

New Features

  • Switches are now controllable in VRM from the site’s dashboard

  • Installation Group Dashboard — Installation groups now have their own dashboard, giving you an at-a-glance overview of all sites in the group: active alarms, production and consumption per site, battery state of charge, and a combined event log.

  • Team Access via Shareable Link — Team admins can now generate a shareable link that site owners can use to grant that team access to their site. This is especially useful for service centers: share the link with your customers, and they can add your team to their site themselves: choosing which sites to share and at what access level.

  • Firmware Release Notes — When you expand a firmware update on the Firmware updates page, you can now read the release notes for that version.

  • EV Charging Reports — We have extended the EVCS report, to show your charging sessions along with a breakdown of energy sources (solar, battery, or grid) and the associated charging costs (if you use Dynamic ESS)

Improvements

  • Tags Dropdown Restored — When adding a tag to a site, the input field now shows a dropdown of tags you’ve already used on your other sites. This helps you stay consistent and avoid typos.

  • Notification Settings Link on Alarm Rules Page — The user permissions table on the alarm rules page now includes a direct link to notification settings, so you can quickly configure how you want to be notified.

  • Your User Highlighted in Alarm Permissions — On the alarm rules page, your own account now appears at the top of the permissions table with a “(you)” label, making it easy to find and adjust your own settings.

  • Navigate from Alarm Logs to Alarm Rules — The alarm logs page now includes a link to the alarm rules page, so you can quickly adjust alarm settings based on what you see in the logs.

  • Dashboard Note for Clamped Negative Prices — When energy prices are negative and values are clamped, the dashboard now displays a note explaining this, so you understand what the displayed prices represent.

  • Smarter "Open in VictronConnect" Buttons — The “Open in VictronConnect” buttons on the Device list are now shown only for devices that actually support it, based on the device’s VregLink attribute.

  • Improved Date Selection on Mobile — The datepicker is now more touch-friendly on mobile devices, with larger tap targets and a better-scaled layout to prevent misclicks.

Bug Fixes

  • Consumption Forecast Toggle — Fixed an issue where toggling consumption forecasts on or off caused the entire graph to refresh unnecessarily.

Some of these features were suggested by community members, so thank you for being so involved and pro-active in thinking along on how to make VRM better.

If you have any feedback on the features above, please mention them here. For new requests or bugs, please start a new thread, as to not dilute this thread too often. :folded_hands:

How is that accessed? It looks like a pop out window (it has a close box), but there’s nowhere obvious on the Dashboard to open it.

You’ll find it next to the ‘controls’ icon:

Note that this only shows when you have controllable switches in your devices.

And a realtime connection.

Excluding virtual switches from Node Red, apparently? I have switches shown in Remote Console which aren’t present in VRM.

BINGO!

Update to latest FW of the GX maybe?

Greetz

Yes, and no. I upgraded when trying to get the switches to show up, but didn’t wait long enough for Node Red to start up fully.

Ok, @Mike.S, Node red is officially not fully supported yet (it’s still in a sort of BETA, not even that), and Barbara is of course showing “normal” VRM users the new things, what you do in Node-red can work and it also cannot, pending, for my customers/installs (I checked all of them just now)…all works just fine…not one with an issue, bugs…I couldn’t find one in such short time (the last 3 hours), thank you @Barbara very much, we like it, way more easy to visualise things and way more easy access to things to operate and/or to see, keep it up…

Regards, Jeroen.

@Mike.S
It is possible to set it .

Is this not released on OiS? Appstore only shows 3.0.32 from 1mo ago.

This is the portal release notes, not the app. The app doesn’t have any real functionality beyond mobile widgets, it is a gateway to the portal.

Hi, I am sorry if I am missing something obvious. What version firmware do I need to have to get all this functionality. My VRM looks completely different and basic. CerboGX is running v2.92. Thank you

2.92 is over 3 years old, of course you don’t get all new features with a FW that old.
The newest version is 3.73 and is around two weeks old.

Update to the current gx version. Yours is very very far behind. Please check all the other device firmware first to make sure it’s compatible.

How do we add an installation group. This is something I’ve been wanting for ages to stop toggle long between two systems

Hi!

You can create one here: VRM Portal - Victron Energy

Then add your 2 sites (or more) to it. On the group page, there’s a button ‘Go to group dashboard’

Have fun!
