Hi everyone!
We have just released a lot of improvements to VRM, so let me guide you through them
. There’s a lot, so grab a coffee and sit back.
New Features
- Switches are now controllable in VRM from the site’s dashboard
- Installation Group Dashboard — Installation groups now have their own dashboard, giving you an at-a-glance overview of all sites in the group: active alarms, production and consumption per site, battery state of charge, and a combined event log.
- Team Access via Shareable Link — Team admins can now generate a shareable link that site owners can use to grant that team access to their site. This is especially useful for service centers: share the link with your customers, and they can add your team to their site themselves: choosing which sites to share and at what access level.
- Firmware Release Notes — When you expand a firmware update on the Firmware updates page, you can now read the release notes for that version.
- EV Charging Reports — We have extended the EVCS report, to show your charging sessions along with a breakdown of energy sources (solar, battery, or grid) and the associated charging costs (if you use Dynamic ESS)
Improvements
- Tags Dropdown Restored — When adding a tag to a site, the input field now shows a dropdown of tags you’ve already used on your other sites. This helps you stay consistent and avoid typos.
- Notification Settings Link on Alarm Rules Page — The user permissions table on the alarm rules page now includes a direct link to notification settings, so you can quickly configure how you want to be notified.
-
Your User Highlighted in Alarm Permissions — On the alarm rules page, your own account now appears at the top of the permissions table with a “(you)” label, making it easy to find and adjust your own settings.
-
Navigate from Alarm Logs to Alarm Rules — The alarm logs page now includes a link to the alarm rules page, so you can quickly adjust alarm settings based on what you see in the logs.
-
Dashboard Note for Clamped Negative Prices — When energy prices are negative and values are clamped, the dashboard now displays a note explaining this, so you understand what the displayed prices represent.
-
Smarter "Open in VictronConnect" Buttons — The “Open in VictronConnect” buttons on the Device list are now shown only for devices that actually support it, based on the device’s VregLink attribute.
-
Improved Date Selection on Mobile — The datepicker is now more touch-friendly on mobile devices, with larger tap targets and a better-scaled layout to prevent misclicks.
Bug Fixes
- Consumption Forecast Toggle — Fixed an issue where toggling consumption forecasts on or off caused the entire graph to refresh unnecessarily.
Some of these features were suggested by community members, so thank you for being so involved and pro-active in thinking along on how to make VRM better.
