Hello,
I have a DC-only camper system with a Cerbo GX (Venus OS v3.80, gui-v2 v1.3.22). No Multi or inverter is connected to the GX. The charging sources are:
- 2x Orion Smart DC-DC chargers, shown as “Alternator”
- 2x Blue Smart IP22 AC chargers, shown as a DC source of type “AC charger”
Both are read over Bluetooth Instant Readout by a small community service, because Venus OS does not support them natively. The issues below depend only on the device types, so they would also appear with, for example, a SmartShunt set up as an “AC charger” DC meter together with an Orion XS.
The system also has a battery bank (2 BMS), a SmartShunt and a DC system meter for the DC loads.
There are two problems with the system overview in VRM (web dashboard and the “System” tab of the VRM app):
-
All DC sources are drawn in one column under the battery, each block connected to the next one (Battery - Alternator - AC charger). This looks as if the AC chargers feed the battery through the alternator. In reality every charger is connected directly to the battery. Could each DC source get its own connection to the battery, for example side by side, like the landscape Overview page in gui-v2?
-
The inverter/charger block is always drawn, with the status “Off” and with “Shore” and “AC loads” blocks showing “-”. The system has no inverter/charger at all, so this is misleading. Could the inverter/charger block, and the AC input / AC loads blocks, be hidden when the installation has no vebus, acsystem, inverter or charger device? The same applies to the “Inverter / Charger - Off” widget on the gui-v2 Overview page.
A smaller point: a DC source that is not supplying anything, e.g. the alternator while the engine is off, stays on the drawing. VRM keeps its last value (“-” or “0 A”) for up to 24 hours. Hiding sources that are not currently supplying power would keep the drawing clean.
